It is no surprise that the patterns in the stone look like living abstraction — Noreena Jasper is called “Australian Picasso jasper” for a reason: its pattern has both dynamism and depth, as well as unexpected color transitions: smooth swirls of warm terracotta red, creamy and amber-yellow tones, like frozen lava flows or a sunset sky. Each fragment is unique: in one specimen the colors flow gently into one another, in another they form sharp, graphic boundaries. The base of the box is made of natural Black Dolerite — its restrained, almost graphite texture serves as the ideal “canvas” for the bright jasper.
